In recent years I’ve spent some of my coffee time putting together a short program called CAP to help PMs, entrepreneurs and any other individuals looking to maximize their performance. The goal of CAP is to help you gain another perspective on what makes you tick, and how you can use that in your every day life experience to increase your overall satisfaction.
Each of the 3 parts, Communication, Awareness and Performance, include components of positive psychology, and here is a short summary of it all.
Communication – The first part is focused on a simple component from NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) called Chunking. Here you practice how to ask the right questions and obtain the right information, moving between abstract and specific pieces of information. It’s great for collecting requirements, negotiations or arguments, for solving problems with Lateral Thinking, dealing with an activity that overwhelms you and finding motivation to get things done.
Awareness – This part is made out of 4 sections, Novelty, Challenge, Creativity and Social, that you can include in your every day lifestyle, to get you the benefits of increasing your capacity to learn new information, retain it, then use that new knowledge as a foundation to solve the next problem, or learn your next new skill.
Performance – This part is focused on Flow, which is the state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Here you practice the conditions that put you in a state of peak performance based on your abilities, tapping into your desire to overcome challenges in order to achieve your ultimate goals.
CAP is normally presented in a 90 minute session.
